Public power is about community power. To help achieve full public power in San Francisco, we are recruiting community members to serve as ambassadors for the public power movement.
Are you a supporter of San Francisco acquiring PG&E’s local electric assets to serve public power to all San Franciscans? Are you passionate about the long-term benefits that public power will bring, such as more affordable rates, more local jobs, and local reinvestment in our power infrastructure? Are you committed to energy equity and ensuring clean, safe, reliable power for all? Then this program is for you.
As a Public power ambassador you will help:
Increase awareness of public power across San Francisco neighborhoods, organizations, and communities.
Encourage people to take action in support of public power by visiting PublicPowerSF.org and endorsing our campaign, following us on social media, signing up for updates, or calling their elected officials.
Host a community event, a panel discussion, or a fireside chat on behalf of the public power movement.
Become a public Power ambassador!
-
Public power ambassadors should be active and respected members of the local community across different sectors, including but not limited to leaders of local organizations, neighborhood associations, civic groups, teachers and administrators, local business owners, labor union groups, climate and environmental groups, leaders serving low income, multilingual, and environmental justice communities, think tank organizations, policymakers, among others.
-
Community members interested in serving as public power ambassadors will participate in a series of trainings and workshops on public power that will provide the necessary tools and information to serve as community spokespeople. We anticipate that ambassadors will participate in at least three workshops over the course of one to two months. In total, we expect the time commitment for this program to be between 10-15 hours.
